President Duhalde faces a tough task ahead of him. Argentina has not only accumulated a huge foreign debt during the years of privatization but government corruption makes it impossible to implement any changes in it's economic and political system to provide basic securities for Argentines who live in poverty. Before the economic crisis over a quarter of the 12 million Argentines in Buenos Aires lived in poverty. Here a child panhandles for money while taking a break from playing the accordion.
