Bali Island of the Gods

Although 90 percent of Indonesia's population is Muslim,  the Balinese are Hindu. Like Indonesia's Islam it is a world apart from that of the Middle East, Balinese Hinduism differs tremendous from that in India. The Balinese have a caste system but there are no "untouchables."  The Balinese believe in a broad spectrum of gods, and good and evil spirits. These gods and spirits are pleased with regular temple rituals and daily offerings.
