Squatters are surrounded by progress in Boca La Caja. More then 30 years ago squatters moved into an area of Panama City called Boca La Caja. Now that area has become part of the city. High rises are all around the village. The Panamanian government is trying to stop progress in the village because of the high tides in Panama Bay. They say that homes would be flooded by the sea. Developers from the multi-million dollar high rises are trying to buy out the home owners. But a price can't be settled upon. The local want twice what the developers are willing to pay. Many problems face the locals. Punta Paitilla is on their doorstep where the high society of Panama city dwell. Their homes are dwarfed by the condominium towers.
