In July and August of 2010 the work to expand the Panama Canal is in full swing. The work in area's Cap 3 and Cap 4 is being done by MECO Constructora a Costa Rican firm. The 7 year $5.25 Billion dollar project will accomodate Post Panamax ships that want to transit EL CANAL. The project is projected to be completed in 2014, which will be the 100 year anniversary of the canal. In 2010 Panama has undergone many changes visible and not so visible to it's infrastructure. The people of Panama are working hard to globalize the country's business on the world wide stage, with the $5.25 Billion dollar expansion of the Canal taking center stage. Panama is a constantly changing landscape of socially and politically.
