On September 21, 2008 the New York Yankees Major league baseball team played their last home game ever at the original Yankee stadium built in 1923. Next year they will move across the street and play in the new Yankee stadium. It was as many said a Farewell to the House that Ruth built. The fans flooded the area that day wearing their best Yankee jerseys and trying to get autographs and commemorative baseballs. Fans were visibly said at the end of the game. They beat the Baltimore Orioles both Saturday and Sunday. The final home run was hit by New York Yankee Alfred Molina.
